The Guild Ledger

Changelog

What's new and what's been fixed around the tavern, newest first.

Notifications on top, sharing everywhere, and better maps

A bundle of quality-of-life fixes across the site:

  • Notifications — the bell panel no longer hides behind maps or other page content, and it finally has a proper ✕ button. On phones you can also flick it away with a sideways swipe.
  • Sharing from the installed app — the app has no address bar, so we've added Share buttons where they were missing: World Wiki pages and maps, the info pages, and each update on this changelog. There's also a new Share this page option in the profile menu and the phone's More sheet that works on every page.
  • World Wiki maps — zoom with your mouse wheel, and pins are now little flags, colour-coded by their wiki group, with a legend on the map telling you what's what.
  • A proper tab icon — your browser tab now shows the club crest instead of the old placeholder d20.
  • For organisers — crediting raffle door sales is much quicker: type a few letters of a member's name instead of scrolling a giant list.

Notifications on your phone

You can now get real notifications from the club on your phone or computer — even when the site is closed. Open your profile, find the Notifications card, and switch on On this device. You'll get a ping for the things you already have turned on — approvals, mentions and so on — plus chat messages and @-mentions sent to you.

On iPhone, first add the site to your Home Screen (tap Share, then Add to Home Screen), and turn notifications on from inside the installed app. Rolling out over the coming days.

Chat feels more at home on your phone

Typing in the chat on an iPhone is much nicer now: the keyboard matches the site's dark theme instead of flashing white, its return key says Send, and the page no longer ends up zoomed and off-centre after you finish typing. Photos are easier too — swipe a picture down to close it (or swipe sideways to flip through an album), and the close button is bigger and no longer hides under the iPhone notch.

The app now fits your iPhone

If you've added the site to your iPhone's home screen, the top-bar buttons — menu, notifications, your account — no longer hide under the notch, and the bottom tabs stay clear of the swipe bar. Typing in the chat on iPhone is smoother too: the message box no longer glitches and jumps around when the keyboard pops up.

Fewer page reloads everywhere

Most buttons and small forms around the site now do their work in place — a little confirmation pops up in the corner instead of the whole page reloading, which feels much snappier, especially on phones. Dismissing notifications, updating your profile and preferences, recording game night attendance, library requests, and the admin tools all respond instantly now. And if you mistype something in a form, the problem is pointed out right under the box you typed in.

Your profile picture is now your ticket

Tap your profile picture and it opens up large — with a "View code" button that flips it around to reveal your personal QR code. At special events, show that code at the door: an organiser scans it and you're checked in. Nothing to print, nothing to buy — it's simply how we count who came along on the night (and it helps with the raffle draws).

Raffle tickets for special events

Special events can now run raffles right on the site. Open the night's page to see the prizes, confirm you're over 18, and buy tickets online — they're paid through our club shop and appear on the night's page within a minute. Paper ticket books sold at the club join the very same draw, so it doesn't matter which kind you hold. Prizes can be added right up to the draw, so late donations still make the pool. Winners get a notification (and an email), and the results are posted on the night's page for everyone. Raffles follow the legal limits for club lotteries, so ticket prices stay at €5 or less.

Special events join game nights

Special events now live right alongside game nights: they're on the calendar, they show under "up next" on the home page, and you RSVP to them exactly like any other night. There's no separate events section any more, and no ticket prices — special events are free to attend. Look for the amber Special event badge to spot them.

Put the club in your pocket

You can now install the website on your phone as a real app — full screen, its own icon on your home screen, quick to open. On iPhone: open the site in Safari, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen". On Android: Chrome offers "Install app" from its menu. If you lose signal it now shows a friendly page instead of a browser error.

Getting in touch, and donating to the library

Two new ways to reach us.

Contact Us - there's now a proper way to send the club a message, in the sidebar, in the footer, and under "More" on your phone. It goes straight to the organisers, who'll get a notification and come back to you. You don't need an account to use it, so you can point anyone at it who's thinking of joining.

Donate an Item - got a rulebook, a set of dice or a battle mat the club could use? There's a button on the library page. Tell us what it is and how to reach you, and a librarian will sort out the handover.

Suggesting an item for the library now alerts the librarians too, so your suggestion won't sit unseen.
