Table: MURKBLIGHT

Icarus was a curious, eclectic, kleptomaniac aasimar artificer with a penchant for pyromania found as a baby in a patch of cabbages and taken in by a couple in the city of Ignaria. They had a thirst for adventure, blowing things up and most importantly anything shiny.
Icarus was on the run from their home city of Ignaria after taking something they shouldn't have (they liked books) ended up in the town of Liadin just beyond the city of Porta Sol. They wanted to have a quiet drink (or few) in the Last Light Inn before they planned their next stop. Unfortunately for them that wouldn't be the case.
They met some fellow adventurers who were curious about a patron slumped over a table after drinking a mystery concoction (later discovered to be a healing potion). The barkeep had asked the adventurers to take the patron upstairs. Icarus being a delightful being said no thanks and carried on drinking and attempting to take gold from some patrons playing a card game.
Later that night Icarus was (along with some of the other party members) enchanted by a man with sparkly pink eyes (who wouldn't be?!). The man put some sort of enchantment on the party who had a wonderful time being uninhibited. The man in pink was brought to see the patron and he advised not to touch the crystal. Icarus being the fan of shiny things (this was a large shiny thing) decided to not heed the advice of the pink man and amputated the leg of the patron from the knee down to take the crystal.  The party attempted to keep Icarus off the patron but in the end they were successful (wooo).
After a good nights sleep the party awoke to chaos. They decided to follow unnatural tracks in to the nearby woods. While in the woods they were approached by twisted wolvish creatures that were marked with purple and had purple smoke seeping from their mouths. (cute). After more and larger versions arrived the party fled until they came across an old abandoned cottage. They decided to investigate.
During a search of the cottage (Icarus in search of snacks or jewels) they came across a pantry (unfortunately no snacks were found). Within the pantry was a concealed ladder. Icarus being a highly curious individual decided to scale down the ladder. It led to a tunnel. Icarus not so subtly (bad roll) wandered down the tunnel and ended up at a small, earth carved chamber. Inside said chamber was a figure (with bad vibes) alongside 3 Hollowed wolves. Icarus waved to them and said hello but they weren't interested in being friends (awkward). The Hollowed decided to attack Icarus (there was no need for that). They successfully attacked. Icarus felt something touch their leg and looked to see purple vapours making their way up their body (Uh Oh).
The party (after hearing screaming) arrived at the chamber to find Icarus laid out (DEAD) upon a hollowed out stone alter. Using dark magic Icarus was brought back to life and turned against the party. After a brutal battle the party were victorious, (YAY).
In a bid to save Icarus the man with pink eyes was summoned and a resurrection ritual was prepared.
Elsewhere, Icarus found themselves in the Riverlands awaiting passage to the afterlife. They encountered a hooded, jackal featured creature adorned in golden jewellery (Icarus was enchanted of course) pleasantly surprised to meet them but eager to guide them onwards.
The creature and Icarus strolled along the riverbank for a bit before stopping. Icarus was asked would they like to go in to the light. They declined. Icarus chose instead to follow their new friend (the creature is unaware of this friendship yet) in to the darkness (Icarus darkvision so it's ok).

Icarus's daughter Ophelia was sent from Ignaria to find them and bring them and the item they stole back to Ignaria. Ophelia (who the party did not know was the daughter of Icarus) met the party that was travelling with Icarus. She was not yet informed that he was no longer in the land of the living. The team were escorted to Porta Sol. There Icarus's death would be revealed. While on a visit to an abandoned temple the ground split and a monstrous Corpse Flower emerged. The flower was holding the body of Icarus (yikes). A battle commenced and thankfully the party succeeded in recovering Icarus's body. They were brought back to the home of the Everbound family where Ophelia was very kindly assisted with gathering items to perform a death ritual for her deceased parent. At an ungodly hour of the night the party went to the coast where a beautiful ritual was performed to honour their fallen party member and guide Icarus safely to the afterlife. Once the ritual was performed, the ashes that were once Icarus were gathered in to a vial and carried by Ophelia back to Ignaria.
RIP Icarus. Enjoy the afterlife with your new friend.
