Manathyr: A world Broken, A future unwritten

DEAN RUSSELL 30 Jul 2026
Table: The Breaking

There are no true histories of Manathyr……only fragments left behind.

Songs carved into stone.
Ruins swallowed by sea and sand.
Whispers carried on storm-winds that no scholar can truly explain.

What is known is this: The world was not always as it is now.

The Echo of the Breaking

Nearly three millennia ago, something ended the “Age of the Ancients”.

They called it The Breaking.

No two accounts agree on its cause, divine war, arcane catastrophe, or something far worse…..but all agree on its devastation. Seas rose and devoured continents. Mountain ranges rose & fell, splitting the earth with horrendous wounds. Storms of magic tore through civilizations, leaving only ash, silence, and ghosts behind.

Nine out of every ten lives were erased in a single age-ending breath, and the survivors…changed.

Even now, the scars remain. Arcane storms still rage across lands both resettled & forgotten. Creatures long buried stir in the deep. And in the darkest places of Manathyr, there are ruins that should not exist, structures untouched by time, or perhaps untouched by reality itself.

Some believe The Breaking was not the end of an age…but a warning.

Korsinth: The Empire Reforged

On the continent of Korsinth, civilization clawed its way back from ruin.

What was once a shattered land of warlords and ash has become something else entirely: an empire known as The Thar’Anor Imperium.

Forged through blood and iron, the Thar’Anor Dynasty now rules nearly all of Korsinth. Its legions march on unbreakable roads. Its engineers shape the land itself. And above all, its Sky Fleet, ancient vessels of arcane power casts a shadow that reminds every kingdom of a single truth:

The Empire endures.

But empires are not eternal.

Beneath the surface of order, tensions coil tightly. Noble houses whisper of rebellion. Secret factions move unseen. Ancient enemies watch from forests, mountains, and the depths below the world.

And at the center of it all sits a throne that has grown increasingly unstable.

If Korsinth fractures, it will not fall quietly.

A World Beyond the Horizon

Korsinth is not alone.

Across the storm-lashed seas lie other continents and land masses, wild, broken, and waiting.

To the East, primal lands where beasts and ancient spirits rule.
To the south, a realm of endless storm and shadow, where reality itself feels thin.
Far beyond the horizons, shattered kingdoms rise from deserts and drowned empires.

And scattered across the great oceans are islands where the past refuses to stay buried and where beneath the waves an ancient foe has begun to stir.

The oceans of Manathyr are not empty. They are watching and waiting for their moment.

The Truth Beneath It All

Every empire tells itself the same story:

That it has brought order to chaos.

That it stands at the height of history.

That it will not fall as those before it did.

But the ancient history of Manathyr hides a secret that would tell a different story.

One of cycles.
Of rising and falling.
Of powers that believed themselves eternal and all powerful, until they were not.

Something is changing in the world.

Old forces are stirring.
The deep places are no longer quiet.
And the fragile balance that has held for centuries is beginning to crack.

Where You Begin

You are not kings.
Not yet heroes.
Not yet legends.

You are something far more dangerous: You are at the beginning of a journey that has many paths, some to greatness, others to devastation and extinction.

In a world standing on the edge of upheaval, where empires strain and ancient powers awaken, even the smallest actions can echo across history.

Will you serve the Imperium, or help bring it downfall?

Will you uncover the truths buried beneath the Breaking, or will you be coerced into ensuring they remain hidden?

Will you stand against what is coming… or be sucked into the maelstrom of chaos?

Because something is coming….and when it does

Manathyr will never be the same again.
